Menswear @ London Fashion Week AW11
On Wednesday i was very lucky to be invited by the multi-talented Poppy Dinsey for London Fashion Week’s AW11 Menswear day. All of which was made possible by the lovely people at Vodafone VIP - you’ve seen the adverts right? Well it’s really true. I was there, in the thick of it, right where the models first hit the runway - As you can see from the pictures (more below, scroll!) i had a pretty good view!
During the day i managed to catch sight of both Cassette Playa & KTZ. Cassette Playa came out with her usual ‘no-nonsense nonsense’ and a blended soundtrack of Death Metal and Garage. Would we expect anything less? I was really looking forward to her show - she has always been an interesting blip in the otherwise glamourical fashion scene but i have to admit she did disappoint! I know. I’m pretty open-minded but the clothes were boring, lackluster and the man painted head-to-toe in gold added little to the imagination. KTZ’s show which followed afterwards seemed to share many of the same nuances but delivered much more. The show was bright, bobbly (i think that’s a good thing) and streamlined - as in the minor details that perhaps had been ignored by CP were now imagined.
I have always been interested in fashion, i find it a curious world and after seeing Ozwald Boateng’s closing slow of London fashion week last year (which was incredible) i have definitely developed more of a taste for the runway. I feel like an outsider, i don’t belong there, which i enjoy immensely. Especially when people have gone OTT on their outfits, like the guy with the feather disaster sculpted around his head. Thank GOD we we were not sat behind him otherwise my pictures would have come out very differently. Personally i feel sorry for the bird from which the feathers came - insult to injury of the highest calibre.
Once again i must give a final thanks to Poppy who was the perfect accomplice & the best manager i’ve never had. Be sure to check out her site if you don’t already - wiwt.com. And if you want the chance to also get your way into some of Fashion’s hottest events, like i did, then don’t forget to check Vodafone VIP for upcoming events & offers.
PS… whoever it was that filmed/shot me please can i have the film back, as i feel like Dorian Gray and you’ve stolen my soul. Or a link would suffice! ;)
